Intensive Russian Assaults Eliminate Power In Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities under attack in the region
Ukraine's energy systems have come under escalating strikes in the past few days

Throughout the evening, Russian missile and drone strikes have caused power cuts in multiple districts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were injured while local people in eastern districts were experienced blackouts and encountered problems to drinking water, per reports from city officials.

At the same time, a young boy was fatally injured in a different aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia region in the southern area, according to area administrators.

Moscow has intensified strikes on electrical systems over the last fortnight, while the country's government has called for "concrete actions" from partner nations to apply pressure on Moscow.

"What's needed is not superficial actions but strong steps - from the America, European nations and the G7 - in providing protection systems and implementing penalties," he wrote in a public message.

Authorities reported that 450 drones and over thirty missiles attacked Ukraine's energy infrastructure, characterizing such strikes as "strategic and deliberate" and against "critical infrastructure" as winter approaches.

Energy officials said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and technical staff were working to restore power.

A barrage of missiles damaged energy infrastructure and residential structures in Kyiv.

Several of the people wounded in the assaults on the capital have been transported for medical care, per statements from municipal representatives.

Local officials said the city came under intense attacks during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child was killed and several individuals were wounded.

The assaults follow nights of air raids in the region, sections of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

Government officials told reporters that Moscow was intentionally trying to damage the country's energy grid, with assaults already affecting fuel infrastructure.

He said technical personnel and authorities were preparing for additional strikes.
